William Harbeck was traveling with his mistress, Henriette Yvois, and they both boarded the Titanic at Southampton, England, on Wednesday, 10th April, 1912, and were bound for New York City, New York.

William Harbeck and Henriette Yvois did not survive the sinking of Titanic. The body of William Harbeck was recovered and identified, but the body of Henriette Yvois was not.

William Harbeck was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio, U.S.A.
