Leonard Mark Hickman was a successful farmer in Eden, Manitoba, Canada, and returned home to England to persuade other members of the Hickman family and family friends to emigrate to Canada too.
None of the seven members of the Hickman group managed to board a lifeboat, and the body of Lewis Hickman was the only one to be recovered and identified.
