Laroche Family

Simonne Marie Anne Andrée Laroche was traveling with her parents, Joseph Philippe Lemercier Laroche and Juliette Marie Louise Laroche, and her sister, Louise Laroche. The Laroche family boarded the Titanic at Cherbourg, France, on Wednesday, 10th April, 1912, traveling to Cap Haitien, Haiti.

Joseph Philippe Lemercier Laroche was the only black passenger aboard Titanic, and he and his family were moving from France because of racial abuse they endured there.

Simonne Marie Anne Andrée Laroche died on the 8th August, 1973, and she was buried in a non cemetery location, somewhere in France.
