Max Staehlin boarded the Titanic at Southampton, England, on Wednesday, 10th April, 1912, traveling to New York City, New York.

Max Staehlin was traveling to New York with his business associate Alfons Simonius-Blumer.

Max Staehlin managed to board lifeboat No. 3, and survived the sinking of the Titanic.

Max Staehlin died on the 3rd August, 1968, and he was buried in Friedhof Birsfelden, Basel, Basel-Stadt, Switzerland.
