Mary Eloise Smith was traveling with her husband, Lucian Philip Smith, and they boarded the Titanic at Southampton, England, on Wednesday, 10th April, 1912, traveling to Huntington, West Virginia.

Mary Eloise Smith managed to board lifeboat No. 6, and survived the sinking of Titanic, but Lucian Philip Smith was lost in the sinking of the Titanic, and his body was not recovered or identified.

Mary Eloise Smith died on 3rd May, 1940, and was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia, U.S.A.
