Karl Howell Behr boarded the Titanic at Cherbourg, France on Wednesday, 10th April, 1912, traveling to New York City, New York.

Karl Howell Behr was courting Helen Monypeny Newsom, however, her parents, Richard Leonard Beckwith and Sallie Beckwith, were against the relationship.

Karl Howell Behr, Richard Leonard Beckwith, Sallie Beckwith, and Helen Monypeny Newsom all managed to board lifeboat No. 5, and they all survived the sinking of Titanic.

Karl Howell Behr died on 15th October, 1949, and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Morristown, Morris County, New Jersey, U.S.A.
