Titanic cruise sales pay £500 commission

Postby Andrew Clarkson » Thu Sep 10, 2009 4:12 pm

Miles Morgan Travel is offering agents the chance to sell its Titanic Memorial Cruise for the first time.

The cruise, which commemorates the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the ship in April 1912, was launched as direct sell-only earlier this year.

But Miles Morgan is extending it to agents and offering them a £500 incentive per booking.

He said: “The ship is half booked already which is incredible considering it’s still two and a half years away.

“Every booking is rewarded with a flat £500 commission so this is a chance to make a hatful of money.”

Morgan said agents can make more money by splitting bookings.

“If they have four people who want to book, two couples for example, why not break the booking in half and make themselves £1,000,” he said.

Fred Olsen’s Balmoral has been chosen for the cruise and it will set sail from Southampton on April 8, 2012, for a 12-night cruise following the Titanic’s original itinerary and arriving at the spot where the ship sank for a memorial service.

The cruise has attracted interest from 120 countries and bookings from 28, including Botswana and Iraq.

Many of the customers are descendants of passengers and crew who were on board.
