THERE may not be any icebergs expected in St Helens but this Saturday a screening of the original Titanic movie from 1958 will be shown in town for the first time since 1958.

Lucem House Community Plus, based in the Old Unitarian Church on Corporation Street, is screening of A Night to Remember, this Saturday, April 29.

The ‘real’ story of how the Titanic sank in 1912, starring Kenneth More, will be shown alongside memorabilia including a bell that was on the ill-fated ship and one of eight copies of the Heart in the Ocean necklace featured in the famous 1997 film.

Paul Jones, 44 from Parr, who was a heritage advisor on the 1997 film after developing a fascination with Titanic since watching the 1958 film as a child, is one of the team at Lucem House.

He said: “It more than just a screening of the show, it’s an experience.

“With my role on the 1997 film starring DiCaprio and Winslet, I was offered a chance to buy one of eight copies of the necklace used in the film and people can get their photograph taken with it if they come along of Saturday.
