Woman to spend £84,000 life savings on visiting the Titanic

A woman is set to spend her life savings on visiting the wreck of the Titanic.

Renata Rojas said that ever since she was a child, she dreamed of exploring the ill-fated passenger liner – which was discovered on the seabed three decades ago.

Despite not owning a home, a car or fulfilling any of her other dreams, she is set to fork out $105,000 (£84,000) to see the infamous shipwreck.

The 49-year-old New York banker and diving enthusiast had previously tried to visit the wreck on a centennial expedition in 2012 – however, it was cancelled.

She said: ‘I don’t own an apartment. I don’t own a car. I haven’t gone to Everest yet.
