Swooshing skirts and posh British accents filled the ballroom of the Al. Ringling Mansion on Saturday as guests arrived to experience the last dinner party on the ill-fated Titanic in 1912.
A group of 20 well-studied actors portrayed several famous historic figures, and some lesser-known passengers, as vibrant and alive as they were on the night of April 15, 1912, hours before the Titanic hit an iceberg that sealed its fate.
The Titanic Dinner was the first event of its kind in Baraboo and was already sold out in early March.
About 200 guests — some also in period dress — with replicas of the boarding passes were lined up outside the mansion waiting to be “checked in” by the pursers as their assigned characters on the ship.
