Essex Morse Tutor interviewed by BBC

Postby Andrew Clarkson » Fri Apr 08, 2016 9:22 am

Andy Kersey G0IBN gave a live demonstration of Morse code and was interviewed about Morse and the Titanic on BBC Essex

The interview took place at Marconi's first wireless factory in Hall Street, Chelmsford where a Marconi exhibition is being held every Saturday and Sunday until May 29.

Andy is a member of the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) and Essex CW Club. He teaches Morse classes on Thursday evenings at the Danbury Village Hall.

Hall Street Exhibition Organiser Chris Neale says Andy was asked to be interviewed by BBC Essex on a live programme at just 10 minutes notice after arriving in Hall Street for the very first time! He was quickly briefed by the exhibition team and did a very good job.

For the interview Andy was sat by the commemorative exhibit to the RMS Carpathia and Captain Rostron which adjoins the popular Titanic Marconi Room replica exhibit.
