Titanic Steerage Party to light up State Museum

If you’ve seen James Cameron’s “Titanic,” you’ll probably agree that the steerage class parties on the ocean liner were a great time. The South Carolina State Museum is offering the chance to experience the fun with its own Titanic Steerage Party from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16.

This event will feature music, dancing, food and a cash bar. As an added bonus, guests will have access to the State Museum’s “Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition” all evening.

Live music will be provided by Celtic rock band Bare Knuckle Champions, and a buffet will include dishes reflecting the Irish and Scandinavian heritage of many of the immigrants in Titanic’s steerage class.
