Gown from Titanic movie goes on display in Colne

A MUSEUM in East Lancashire is hoping film buffs ‘fly’ through the door to get a close-up of a piece of film history.

Kate Winslet’s famous dress in James Cameron’s 1997 Titanic film is now on display at the Titanic In Lancashire Museum.

It was worn by Winslet’s character, Rose DeWitt Bukater, in the movie, as Leonardo Di Caprio’s Jack Dawson cradles her at the ship’s bow, as she shouts ‘I’m flying’.

And it will be a centrepiece of the Colne Old Grammar School venue for some time to come, after it was lent by White Star Memories, a leading authority on artefacts related to the stricken ship.
