Hi,

I see what I believe to be an obvious error! :( Who else sees one?

I should mention I went looking for it deliberately and found it in under 20 seconds just scrolling to the right photo where it shows. I wonder how many errors can be listed - goodness knows I could not contribute much to such a list. Mauretania's more my game :)

A clue. It is something rendered correctly on the box image but incorrectly on the built version shown in the photographs at the website linked...

Hello Eric. Is it the width of the aft docking bridge. Ken.

Hi Ken :)

How did that job interview work out?? Good I hope :)
While the overhang appears to be there, the railings, placement and proportions look off, as some other larger features of this model. I am not a rivet counter though. However, in that very same neck of the woods you were in, I found a tight grouping of errors, also apparently rendered correctly on the box image and incorrectly on the model. It is a bit little less noticeable though.... ;) Hint - color...
This little error I am more certain in mentioning.

Best wishes,

Hello Eric. Is it the gold band around the ship which seems to be missing on the model? What I thought looked wrong was the size of the water pipes attached to the funnels. Thanks for asking about the job interview. I have a second interview on Wednesday. It's a bit odd actually as I have been working at the school where the job is for the last twenty years. There are just two maintenance persons (Howard and me) and the post is for a manager. We have not had a manager for ages and I have been filling in. But even though I can do it the bosses might still try a complete stranger as they have done similar things before. 70 applied and I am in the last 7. Ken.

Hi Ken :)

I hope your next post says you got the managerial job!
The band is there, but hard to see. The funnels - yes indeed. While checking the docking bridge area I found yet another little error - same hint ((same)color)! So, there are two groups of unlisted errors near the stern docking bridge!

Best wishes,
Eric

Hi Ken,

Well, I have my fingers crossed! :)
Let us know what happens. Were you able to see the band on the hull? If an image on your screen is too small you might try pushing the Ctrl key and using the scroller on your mouse to increase the size of, or zoom in on, an image online. Do that in reverse to undo, or close the window.

Best of luck and more,
Eric :D

Hello Eric. The gold band is on the model. It is clearer at the bow. I had my second interview yesterday. Felt a bit odd as the person asking the questions I have known him for 12 years. He starts the interview off with "Well tell us about yourself. Where were you born". I couldn't help but think "what has that got to do with this job". Anyway I managed to make a joke of it as I replied "I was born in Chelsea, it wasn't posh back then". In case you dont know Chelsea now is a very well to do area of London but it wasn't in the late 40's early 50's. The burser who was also at the interview I was told is some sort of expert on interviews so to think carefully before answering her questions. She didn't say one word apart from when she first came into the room and said "Hello Ken". I am now waiting there desision. It's still like X factor and the winner is ..............................

Hi Ken,

The winner is....well, lets see....you've got 25% chance as one in four, and with your previous and perfectly suited experience doing the very job, and then I'm sure great performance...;)
When do you learn the outcome?

Best of luck!!!

Hello Eric. And the winner is ................................not me. They gave the job to someone named Bob. I met him today and he seems a nice guy. I'll have to re-apply in another twenty years. At least I wont have to take down all the pictures I have of my kids from the wall around my workbench. Thanks for showing an interest. Ken.

Hi Ken,

Oh :( I am sorry to hear that. You workbench sounds so comfy with family photographs - maybe just as well? I bet they know what they missed in passing you that's for sure. Yes, do re-apply in future - I really doubt anyone will have 40 years experience! ;)

With best wishes,
Eric :D

This is why I'd like the Edit feature back - I meant "I bet they DON"T know what they missed in passing you that's for sure."

Sorry Ken. :(

Best wishes for a Happy Holiday!
