Hi Dave,
Hope you are keeping well.
I have 389 women and children saved. Not sure why
Regarding the stats for the women and children on Titanic. It's impossible to be precise ...........
There were 545 women and children on board of whom 389 survived and 156 perished.
Aly,
There were 795 adult male passengers of whom 131 survived.
There were 419 adult female passengers of whom 313 survived.
There were 103 children/infants of whom 56 survived.
Note: According to Titanic's Certificates for Clearance an adult passenger was aged “12 years and upwards”.
I have never divided the children/infants into male/female. - But a quick count gives me
30 male and 26 female children/infants saved, with
26 male and 21 female children/infants lost.
That gives a result of:
male passengers 851 of whom 161 survived and
female passengers 466 of whom 339 survived.
You posted:
Children are Included as male and female passengers, no class. All men and women, Including all crew.
I understand you to be saying that you want to count the children as men and women. I believe that will only cause confusion. You should have either male and female
or men, women and children.
How many men and how many women survived exactly?
323 and 333 - As males and females – 353 and 359
How many men and how many women that died amongst 1500?
1,340 and 109 out of
1,496. - As males and females 1,366 and 130 out of
1,496.
Aboard 2020 passengers,
There were
2,208 passengers and crew on board. - As Dave advised 1,317 passengers and 891 crew.
what were the ratio of male passengers and what were the ratio of female passengers board the ship?
Passengers - males 38.54% females 21.11% plus crew 40.35% [of whom 23 = 1.04% were female].
