Hello Aly. Evonne Goolagong was amazing. At Wimbledon 1971 she was to play Margaret Court ( A big player back then ) in the final. One of the newspapers headlines read before the match "No one expects Evonne to win at Wimbledon today". But at just 19 years old she beat Margaret Court in strait sets. You know those paper cups that the players drink from during the break. Well I got two of the ones Evonne used as souveniers. Kind of sad now but I was young back then. Hopefully a picture of her will appear. Ken

I never knew of her, now I do know her.She reminds me of Cathy Freeman. An aboriginal lass that were are track and field Aussie champion, 1990's and 2000's.
We don't have many Aborigines representing Australia in Olympics but we have many Aborigines In AFL as footballers. The Aborigines do really well In football too.

Aly Jones,When i was in Adelaide I asked my cousin about the Aboriginees, and he immediatley said to me what do you want to see them for,and seemed a bit upset about it,I wonder why, however I decided not to speak about it again. This seemed to be a racial thing. However some people have their reasons I suppose,But your ancestors and mine are special to us whatever they are,as a descendant. pat

Ive never had any problems with native Aussies. Maybe your cousin had bad relations with the native Aussies, that Is why he feels a little upset when you mentioned them? I just don't know.

Yeah, our descendants and future ancestors are very special to each one of us.

Our kids and younger family members become our ancestors in the near future. That's what I meant Mark.

Aly Jones,I found that people who have gone to other people,s countries have problems. And that the natives of that country sometimes resent them on their land, this seems to be a world wide problem, that we the descendants have to deal with in the future. Pat

Really? Then this must be another way in which things work in opposite ways in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

Pat- I understand what you are getting at. I try and keep to myself in the real world because I am well aware of what's happening out side. I don't come In contact with much people In the first place, just my own family members. ;)

Mark- Sally Is Robert Hichens ancestor and she's younger than him. Now, I am totally confused on ancestors and descendants. I have no-idea.

Aly Jones,What I put down in Black and white on this site is what I stand for, some people will disagree, but because you are confused is quite natural,I have the benefit of hindsight and experience, flying over Australia from north to South was a spectacle I will never forget,to see one of my Family circle my cousin who like me came from Dorset originally,I went to canada at 18 years old and he went to australia I had not seen him for 50 years and had to see him before i died. Mab. I once read that we all have 3,500 ancestors, how this works out I have no idea, but that is what I read,so in that case we can then, find out that maybe we are all related to each other in some way or another? Pat

Hello. Aly was quite correct in talking of "future ancestors". My children and there children (my grand children) will be the ancestors of my grandchildrens grand parents and all future generations after. Ken.
