Hull-o everybody!

(please excuse the terrible boat-related pun - it's only my first post so bear with hehe ^^)

Quite recently my boyfriend has created a 100th anniversary video to commemorate the great RMS Titanic (and also to show off his admittedly brilliant guitar skills) - as a keen historian myself I thought I'd share it with this fantastic organisation :D If you'd like to watch it the link is - the whole thing was composed by Mr Ritchie Oliver :)

I plan on hopefully doing a detailed pen drawing of Titanic - not entirely sure what to do with it afterwards however....

Well, the Titanic 3D movie just opened on Malaysian shores two days ago... The wife said that she watched the original version almost 4 times way back in 1997 and she wants to catch it again, so it's likely we'll watch the 3D show next weekend! :D

Also, I have a beautiful die-cast model of the Titanic and after it was displayed in a glass cabinet all these years, I finally decided to take it out and give the doomed ship it's position of honor after 100 long years... I used one of the digital cameras I have (Lumix LX5) and took loads of shots, including several of this (hopefully) realistic pictures! :)

My idea of a poster, honoring the liner!

I was scrolling through this thread and came upon the Broken Dreams song and figured, WTH, I'll check out the first 15 seconds. Well, 3 replays later, I must commend the band on a wonderful, hummable piece of music. It is very nice tribute to Titanic, and a great song! I was thrilled to see the performers are regular folk and not rock-star wannabees--how refreshing! I hope record producers are as impressed as I am. Much success to you.

I'll be going to see James Cameron's Titanic in3D, most likely (this will be my second time seeing it during the re-release and my third time going to see it in the theatre, in general). When I get home, I'll probably watching the making-of documentary that's on the three-disc collector's edition DVD. And if there are going to be any documentaries on TV about Titanic, I will be watching those, as well.

If I think of anything else, I will most likely post it here :D

Other than the funny stuff I did above, i.e. with regards to shooting the ship :D and catching the 3D re-release, I'll also be watching the Titanic-related documentaries on History Channel and the other educational ones here on satellite TV... It should be an interesting watch and one that will hopefully enlighten everyone about this KO'ed ocean liner! :)

Titanic-Malaysia, It is good to see that someone from Malaysia is on this site, yesterday I had a display at St Comgalls Church of Ireland in Bangor. The sermon was given by the Rev of the Church, also it seems that Churches all over N.Ireland are giving sermons etc on the Titanic. My display of with another Rev,was on request to show some of things concerning the Titanic, unfortunately as we know Titanic failed to reach it,s destination. This commemerotion is one of many that I will probably be involved in this year, and has come as a surprise to me at short notice I had not planned this either.Pat

Hey Pat, thanks for the compliment... I must be one of the furthest-located members on this Forum and possibly the only Asian one, is this so? :D

And looks like there will be many Church sermons and services in Northern Ireland, particularly Belfast, where the Titanic and its sister ships were born... But I didn't know that you are also attending one in Bangor in Wales... I'm guessing that things will be quite busy when April 15, 2012 rolls around, with loads of Titanic100 anniversary prayers and sessions all over the UK and Ireland! :)
