That's my second favorite book in the world, just after the Bible. :)

Actually, I mix in all too well with machinery, particularly with mainframe computers. I am a computer programmer with a government agency. So perhaps that's why I want to get away from machinery and deal with people. :D

Not this woman, I love the technical aspects, so I guess the "women and machinery" line in James Cameron's movie doesn't apply to me. Whenever my parents get a new piece of technology or have computer problems, the first person they contact is yours truly, since they know that I may know how to figure out the solution to their problem (I'm not always successful, but I know more than they do). This doesn't mean I don't like the people involved, I just get more attached to things than people. One of my favorite parts of the movie is the "Take her to sea, Mr. Murdoch" scene. Then again, I've always been more of a tomboy than a girly-girl, so this may explain it.

Welcome aboard anyhow, Nina, even though we may have similar tastes, not all fans will agree to every aspect. There wouldn't be much to debate if we all agreed with each other, don't you think? ;)

Hi all I live in North Wales and I became interested in Titanic when my eldest brother lent me a book about Titanic's discovery by Robert Ballard. I read it from cover to cover and have been hooked ever since. I have now watched many documentaries and read several books including Walter Lord's book A Night to Remember. I am currently reading Titanic The Unfolding Story. Can anyone recommend other books that are well worth the read. I also read many articles on Titanic sites such Titanic Historical Society and Encyclopedia Titanica. I was particulary interested to read George Behe's article Psychic Forewarnings of a Tragedy.

Hello everyone.
My name is Carina Hansen, I'm 23 years old and lives in Norway.
Titanic has fascinated me for years, and like many other, the 1997-movie was what made me grow this interest.
The collection of Titanic-stuff has become pretty big, and today I started working on the 1/350 centennial edition model.

This looks like a great board, and I hope it will provide some fun discussions with like minded people.

Hello there! I am new to the forum though have been fascinated with the whole Titanic thing for a long time coming.

It is just one of those things that would be quite hard to imagine to happen but still does at there is a different dimension when talking about reality.

There are just something that you have to suck up and realize that it has gone and passed, pretty much sums up how I feel about the whole Titanic.

Greetings to all newcomers to Titanic-Titanic.com and welcome to the Forums! :D

I must be one of the furthest-away members here, being based all the way in Malaysia, although we're only approx. 8 hours flight from where Aly is located (in Melbourne!)... :)
