This is by far one of my favorite Titanic books. It has come in handy several times already when I go to look up different things. And its enormous. I love all of the photographs, as well. I won't lie---I have yet to "finish" reading it. Definitely a 5 star book. This one is going to stick around for a long, long time.

Thank you so much for your kind words about our book. It means a lot hearing positive feedback after the years of work that went into researching and writing it, that makes it all worthwhile. Our hope is that it will be around and referenced for a long time, and that it filled in some holes in the historic record.

Just so everyone knows, the second edition is due out in June in Europe, and a few months later, will be released in the US and overseas market. The first edition has been sold out for several months, and it should be widely available again as a result.

Thanks again for your thoughts and kind words.

Salaam, O my beloved cousin.

You gave an excellent interview to the Dalbeattie newspaper. (My only regret is that they didn't ask you about the Murdoch suicide issue so that you could point out their mistake in insisting that Murdoch definitely could not have committed suicide.) ;-)

Again, many congratulations, cousin Mustafa. May the sales of your new book be as fruitful as your many wives.

Salami gents,

All those wives. All those mother in laws, too, I think one is more than enough.

Salaam, Andrew.

I agree, but Mustafa must find these things out for himself. ;-)

Salaam o my cousin Achmet,
Thank you for the compliments on the interview. That was very brief and conducted last year, but I realize news travels slowly between the oasis and Wadi Rum. It would have been instructive to discuss the suicide question, but with an interview that short, I don't think that was their priority.

As far as my harem, I was wondering why I had been afflicted with such headaches that even spirit-soaked dates won't cure it. Now I know the answer...

Hello my friends,
Here is an update regarding "On a Sea of Glass." The second edition of the book is now at the printers, and should be released to retailers in the UK by late June or early July. Full international release will follow in the fall. The second edition of the book is in a slightly different format, slightly smaller page size, but the same amount of content. The retail price will be slightly less expensive than the first edition.

Changes from the first edition include text corrections and some small revisions, as well as some new photographic material, including several new rare images. For those that haven't been able to get the book yet, it should be more readily available, starting with the UK release. The first edition sold out and there has been a large demand for copies. Any questions, please let me know.

Salaam, O my beloved cousin Mustafa.

Congratulations on the second edition of thy book. May the sales figures be pleasing to thine eye, and may thy wives and concubines be fruitful and bear thee many sons.

Hello my friends,
Just a quick update to let everyone know that the second edition of the 2012 Maritime Media Award nominated 'On a Sea of Glass' is officially available via UK and European retailers now. The publisher Amberley, as well as Amazon UK have copies in stock, and regular and signed/numbered editions will soon be available directly from the authors via atlanticliners.com. Full international release will follow in a few months, but in the meantime, the following booksellers on Amazon have copies available in the US right now:
