Does anyone recognize this china pattern?

Postby ductbert » Sat Jun 16, 2012 1:06 am

In 2000 at the Titanic Exhibition in Chicago I purchased this first-class teacup and saucer set in the gift shop. I visited the same exhibition a year or two later and never saw the pattern again. I'm trying to determine where in first class it might have been used or what the name of the pattern is. It has the RMS Titanic Reproduction stamp on it but it's not available for sale from them or anywhere on the web.

Interestingly this cup and saucer were identical in structure to the second class cup and saucer that I purchased that year. The only difference is that gold trim was used in place of a floral pattern.

Either I purchased an item with a seldom-used pattern or it was fake that was just window-dressed to look like first class. Does anyone recognize this pattern?

Actually it was first and second class reproductions but I'm trying to determine if the first-class pattern in the picture was actually used somewhere on Titanic.

No it wasn't!
Neither of the patterns in the photographs are anywhere near the original pattern and therefore could not have been used anywhere on the Titanic, therefore whether they were sold as first or second class is somewhat academic.

The top ones look like the ones used on the Boat Deck. The bottom are blue delft China patterns, usually used in 2nd class.

Hi,
Perhaps - but both patterns are very poor (supposed) copies of 3rd class / boat deck and a 2nd class cup / saucer.
