Mini Biography

Margaret Ann Watson Ford was traveling with her four children, Dollina Margaret Ford, Edward Watson Ford, William Neal Thomas Ford, and Robina Maggie Ford. The Ford family all boarded the Titanic at Southampton, England, on Wednesday, 10th April, 1912, traveling to Essex County, Massachusetts.

Margaret Ann Watson Ford and her husband had five children between them, but her husband had deserted her and the family, leaving them almost destitute. Margaret Ann Watson Ford had another child who had gone to work in America, and after hearing of the better living conditions, Margaret Ann Watson Ford had decided to emigrate too.

Also traveling with the Ford family was Margaret Ann Watson Ford's sister Eliza Johnston, together with her husband, Andrew Emslie Johnston, and their two children, William Andrew Johnston, and Catherine Nellie Johnston. Finally, a family friend, Alice Phoebe Harknett, also made the trip, making a total of ten people in the group.

Margaret Ann Watson Ford, Dollina Margaret Ford, Edward Watson Ford, William Neal Thomas Ford, and Robina Maggie Ford, Eliza Johnston, Andrew Emslie Johnston, William Andrew Johnston, Catherine Nellie Johnston and Alice Phoebe Harknett were all lost in the sinking, and none of their bodies were recovered.
