Mini Biography

Bertha Leroy boarded the Titanic at Cherbourg, France on Wednesday, 10th April, 1912, traveling to Deephaven, Minnesota.

Bertha Leroy, who was maid to Mahala Douglas, and was traveling with her and her husband, Walter Donald Douglas.

Mahala Douglas and Bertha Leroy both managed to board lifeboat No. 2, and survived the sinking of the Titanic. Walter Donald Douglas in the sinking, however, his body was recovered and identified.

Bertha Leroy died on the 4th July, 1972, and she was buried in Hersin-Coupigny, Departement du Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.
