Bruxellesville was built by Raylton Dixon & Company, of Middlesbrough in 1898.
Bruxellesville was launched in April, 1888, for the Soc. Maritime Du Congo S.A., of Antwerp. Bruxellesville was operating on the Antwerp - Belgian Congo route, and she was 85% owned by Alexandra Woermann Line.
In 1900, Bruxellesville was transferred to the Cie Belge Maritime Du Congo, Elder, Dempster owned.
On January 29th, 1901, Bruxellesville was sold to Woermann Line, and renamed Alexandra Woermann, operating on the Hamburg - West Africa service.
In the August of 1914, Alexandra Woermann was located at Hamburg as the war began, and served as a transport within German waters.
On 5th September, 1918, Alexandra Woermann collided with, and sank the UC-91 in the Baltic with the loss of 16.
On March 26th, 1919, Alexandra Woermann was ceded to Britain, White Star Line as managers.
In 1920, Alexandra Woermann was acquired by Ellermans Wilson, Hull, and renamed Calypso III.
In the August of 1936, Calypso III was broken-up by Van Huyghen Fréres at Ghent.
